New OAC Statistics Consultant

The OAC Dean’s Office is pleased to welcome Amir Bazrgar into the role of Statistics Consultant for OAC. He began in the role on June 27th.

In this role, Amir supports the use of statistics in teaching and research across the college. He consults with graduate students to provide advice on statistics and experimental design, and assist them in understanding and analyzing their data. He also facilitates workshops and training on a variety of statistical topics.

Amir joins the OAC Dean’s Office from the School of Environmental Sciences where he was a post-doc, data analyst and research scientist. These roles included teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students on use of statistics and statistical analysis software. He also taught statistical analysis and experimental design at the Islamic Azad University (IAU) for four years before moving to Canada. He obtained his Ph.D. in Ecological Modelling from Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
