  • Later Platonism (especially the 3rd century Alexandrian strain, the writings of Origen, that is and Plotinos)
  • Greek Tragedy (especially Sophoclean drama)

  • Promoting the living use of Latin in teaching, learning and translating literary texts (especially modern classics)

Current Research Projects

  • Attempting to show the pervasive presence of Origen’s elaborate theological system in his biblical exegesis.
  • Working out an argument for the connection of aesthetics with metaphysics. This will serve to unite my two fields of specialization, and connect ancient with modernist literature.
