Posted on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026

The Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) is saddened to share the passing of David Morris, a proud OAC alumnus and longtime supporter of the College, who died on June 24, 2026, at the age of 74.

Morris graduated from OAC with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science) in 1973, followed by a Master of Science in Crop Science in 1975. He was recognized as a respected crops and soils specialist, first with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and later as an independent agricultural consultant. He spent decades working with Ontario's agricultural sector, providing expertise in crop production, soil management, and technology transfer while contributing to numerous publications and educational programs.

Despite retiring from full-time work, Morris remained closely connected to OAC. He was a regular attendee at OAC '73 class reunions and served for five years on the class executive. Since 2018, he had been a member of the OAC '73 Legacy Committee, helping lead an ambitious fundraising campaign to establish two scholarship funds, supporting students in undergraduate agriculture programs and the preservation and renewal of Johnston Hall.

Morris was known for his lifelong commitment to learning, service, and agriculture. His passion for supporting future generations of students reflected his deep appreciation for the education and opportunities he received at OAC.

For more information can be found on his obituary.
