A unique master’s program that will train the next wave of sustainability leaders in the global agricultural sector will soon launch at the University of Guelph. 

Improving innovation and sustainability in the Canadian poultry and egg sector is the goal of a new $3.5 million gift from the William and Lynne Gray Foundation and L.H. Gray & Son Limited to the University of Guelph.

Two Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) faculty members studying animal science and welfare have been named University of Guelph Research Leadership Chairs (RLCs).  

Launched in 2017, the RLC program recognizes mid- to late-career researchers who have received national and international recognition for significant contributions to their fields of study, while also training highly qualified personnel and contributing to the betterment of society. 

Growing these beans more efficiently and sustainably is the goal of a new gift from the Ontario Bean Growers (OBG) to the University of Guelph’s Ontario Agricultural College (OAC). 

Addressing the gap of highly skilled talent in the agri-food sector and promoting the University of Guelph as a destination of choice for students from around the world are the focus of several new scholarships.  

OAC researchers and graduates are enhancing food security in three key areas: Indigenous food sovereignty; food production in controlled environments, notably vertical farming; and food safety under climate change.
