The University of Guelph has named Dr. Rene Van Acker, professor and dean of the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC), as its interim vice-president (research).
He will take on the interim position immediately as a secondment from his role as OAC dean. He will replace Dr. Malcolm Campbell as vice-president (research), who will step down effective July 20.
Dr. Brady Deaton, professor and McCain Family Chair in Food Security, was awarded the distinction of Fellow of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (CAES-SCAÉ). The distinction was announced at CAES-SCAÉ’s Annual Meeting in Whistler, BC on Tuesday.

Ken was admired for his scientific insight and talents, especially in the area of data analysis, which significantly benefited the Department’s cropping systems research program for over 30 years.

The OAC’s Dean’s Office is pleased to announce Ann Cesar as the Senior Manager, Shared IT Services. Ann will begin in this new role on July 3rd, 2023.
In this role, Ann will support IT services throughout OAC, including both the Guelph and Ridgetown Campus. She will also support U of G’s College of Arts IT needs.
