New York-based painter, Amy Sillman, is concerned with a “fearless, tenacious pursuit of a painting that might accurately register the discomfort, incoherence, and absurdity that can characterize painterly experience—and experience in general” (Linda Norden, Art Forum). Through painting, drawing, animation, and writing, she weaves together an art practice that is both formal and discursive, humorous and questioning.
