Johnston Hall Student Space Renovations Delayed, Scheduled to Open Late-September

Posted on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Strong progress has been made to the new and improved student space in the basement of Johnston this summer. Although the renovation project is close to the end of construction, there have been some delays on furnishings. Furniture is expected to arrive mid-September.

The new space is anticipated to be ready for student use the week of Sept 23rd, 2019.

Students will need to utilize alternative spaces on campus during this delay, as the second floor of Johnston Hall, where the old Aggie Lounge was located, has been converted to temporary staff offices. A list of alternative study and group work space options is provided below.

All students will be notified via the SF-Update and Program Counselling websites when the new space is open and ready for use.

"The Dean’s Office apologizes to all students who are impacted by this delay," shares John Cranfield, Associate Dean, External Relations. "We sincerely appreciate students’ patience and flexibility. We’re excited to see the new space furnished and in use by OAC students soon."
