This interactive workshop explores collaboration as a powerful approach to achieving shared goals. Participants will examine how collaboration differs from other forms of working together, identify when it is most effective, and practice the skills that make it successful. Through reflection and group activities, participants will assess current strengths in their networks and discover practical ways to apply collaborative tools to enhance outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate Collaboration from Other Forms of Working Together
    • Participants will be able to explain how collaboration compares to coordination, cooperation, and teamwork, and identify the unique value it brings.
  • Determine When Collaboration is the Most Effective Approach
    • Participants will assess scenarios and determine when collaboration is the best tool for achieving group goals versus when other approaches may be more appropriate.
  • Identify the Core Elements and Skills for Successful Collaboration
    • Participants will recognize the essential elements (e.g., trust, shared purpose, open communication, joint accountability) and practice the interpersonal skills that make collaboration effective.
  • Apply Collaborative Tools to Their Own Work and Networks
    • Participants will reflect on what is currently working well in their teams and develop concrete strategies to apply collaboration principles in their own professional and organizational contexts.
