University Pension Plan (UPP)

University administrations, faculty associations, unions and other staff groups at University of Toronto, University of Guelph and Queen’s University have been working diligently to develop a new pension plan that would cover employees at all three universities: the University Pension Plan (UPP).  This new University Pension Plan, would be a multi-employer Jointly Sponsored Pension Plan, a contributory defined benefit plan in which the employers and pension plan members share responsibility for plan governance and funding.  The UPP will be open to other Ontario universities joining.  Effective July 1, 2021, the University Pension Plan (UPP), assumed responsibility for administering the University of Guelph pension plans.

UPP News and Communications:

For information on the UPP:

The University of Guelph will continue to administer the plan as an agent of the UPP, to ensure continuous access to the smooth, familiar service and benefits you expect while UPP builds its own infrastructure and systems.  This mean that you will continue to have the same key contacts for questions relating to your pension benefits.  If you have any questions, please email the university at UPP@uoguelph.ca.
