I joined the Ontario Vet College at the University in 1986, and had a variety of roles there, as a vet technician working with large animals, primarily horses and cows, then supervising treatment areas and the surgery suites, and co-ordinating a volunteer program. I now work in Environmental Health and Safety and focus on worker health and safety, especially within agriculture and veterinary medicine across the University's regional campuses and research stations. I provide information and training to assist both staff and students in planning and organizing safe work activities and special events.
I enjoy cooking, though I mostly sous-chef to Derrick's amazing culinary skills, and spending time with friends and family; I love to garden and enjoy regular walks with our two canine companions. We often host students from other countries at our home, and have had over 20 young people stay with us from a number of countries over the years! I look forward to being on a placement myself and making new friends in Nepal.
