My name is Justin Liu. I am travelling to Malawi for 4 weeks to advise the Lilongwe Dairy Limited Company and the Malawi Milk Producers Association on milk quality, laboratory techniques and general quality assurance practices. I have lived in China, Germany, the Southern US and I currently work and reside in Guelph. During my time in Malawi, I hope to use my strengths in cross-cultural communication as well as the professional skills I've gained working at an analytical lab at the university to achieve tangible improvements to the dairy industry while promoting gender equality and youth empowerment.
I have been interested in community involvement and skills-based Volunteering for sometime and I have been looking for opportunity to engage both locally and more broadly. L4C interested me because it allows me to make meaningful contributions to local partner organizations by setting goals and mandates.
