She’s an animal enthusiast that can be seen around campus participating in many of the great activities that the University of Guelph (U of G) has to offer. Amber’s goals have changed since discovering that livestock animals are just as interesting as cats and dogs, if not more!

Meet Hannah, CHATS student

Hannah Symington came to the University of Guelph because of its strong agricultural science program, but soon realized how much more it has to offer. Hannah realized there’s just as much to learn outside of the classroom as there is in the classroom and has taken advantage of the valuable experiences provided by clubs and student-run social events.

Natalia poses with a donkey.

Meet Natalia, animal science student

Natalia, who is on the University of Guelph Varsity Figure Skating team, has been figure skating since she was four years old. The animal science student has always loved animals and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She was originally drawn to the University of Guelph by the agricultural programs and the Ontario Veterinary College, but being able to also continue her passion for skating at U of G made it a perfect fit.

Thomas kneels and smiles with two dogs.

Meet Thomas, Food Science Student

Thomas Hache came to the University of Guelph to study food science because he was interested in the science of food rather than the culinary aspects. Through classes and events he began meeting fellow OAC students commonly known as ‘Aggies’. At first, he wasn’t sure if a food science student would fit in with the Aggie crowd, but today he even sports a traditional ‘OAC Aggies’ leather jacket.

Head shot of Tim.

Meet Tim, FAB Student

Tim is a third year co-op student in the Bachelor of Commerce, Food and Agriculture Business program. Commuting from home since first year made it challenging at first for Tim to meet new people and get involved on campus. But through extracurricular activities and the co-op program, Tim has been able to broaden his learning opportunities, while also making great friends.
