Homewood Health Privacy Breach

Homewood Health – the University’s employee and family assistance program (EFAP) provider – has notified U of G of a cyber security incident of unauthorized access to Homewood Health’s computer systems. The incident involved unauthorized access to some personal information belonging to certain individuals who have accessed EFAP services through Homewood.

Homewood has engaged external cyber security and privacy experts to investigate and address the issue. They have acted to contain the incident and prevent a recurrence.

Homewood Health has provided a confidential inquiry line as well as supports for impacted clients (employees/family members). Any individual who has used Homewood’s EFAP services can find out whether their information was affected by calling Homewood’s confidential inquiry line at 1-833-787-2862. Homewood Health is offering identity and credit monitoring protection to any individual whose information has been affected.

EFAP services provided by Homewood are confidential. As such, the University does not know the identities of U of G employees who use or have used the EFAP, or what services they receive. We encourage all those who have used Homewood Health’s EFAP services to follow up with Homewood through the channels listed above or their website https://homewoodhealth.com/corporate/data-incident.
