Amit Khosla, a senior IT analyst for the OVC is on a Leave for Change Assignment. He is partnering with La Paz Maravillosa in La Paz, Bolivia to develop a mobile phone App to increase tourism in La Paz. The Agency seeks to link the tourism sector with the handicrafts sector, and to increase the number of tourists visiting La Paz, building on the city’s nomination as one of the world’s seven most beautiful cities. Linda Mahood, Professor in the Department of History, is about to embark upon her second Leave for Change assignment. Leave for change provides an opportunity for U of G staff and faculty to demonstrate their commitment to global citizenship and international development by contributing their skills and knowledge during short-term volunteer assignments with organizations in developing countries.
