Updated Flexible Work Arrangements Policy 520

Posted on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us a great deal about how remote work arrangements can create a successful and supportive work environment at the University of Guelph.

Remote work options in U of G’s current Flexible Work Arrangements (Non-Academic Staff) policy were implemented in 2021 as a temporary measure to address COVID-related lockdowns and the gradual return of employees to campus.

As we look toward the future of work at U of G, we are taking lessons learned from the past two years and codifying them into an updated policy that takes effect August 29, 2022.

This updated policy helps establish consistent expectations across the University for remote work arrangements. It sets up the University for success in creating a work environment that allows employees, when feasible, to work remotely for part of the week while continuing to meet the standards needed to serve our community and prioritize the student experience.

You can read the full updated 520 Flexible Work Arrangements Policy (Non-Academic Staff) on the HR website.

More information on the broader scope of the flexible work arrangements policy change is accessible for users through their University of Guelph login.
