2020 T4 and T4A Distribution

In previous years, paper T4 and T4A slips for active employees have been distributed through an individual’s department or, for inactive employees to their home address on file.  Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and following guidelines from Public Health, many University of Guelph faculty and staff, continue to work- from-home.

Given this, all T4 and T4A slips for the 2020 tax year, will be sent to an individual’s current address on file no later than February 28, 2021.

2020 Tax Year - T2200S Communication

During the 2020 calendar year, following guidelines from public health, many University of Guelph faculty and staff have moved to working-from-home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  This has raised many questions regarding an employee’s ability to deduct home-based work expenses when filing their 2020 income tax returns and whether the University will be issuing T2200S forms.

Kudos to the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital Team

The OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital team located within the Ontario Veterinary College’s Hill's Pet Nutrition Primary Healthcare Centre are a small, but mighty group. The team of 12 full-time and four part-time staff work closely with final-year student veterinarians to provide veterinary service to Guelph and surrounding communities.  Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, this team has continued to work on-campus, delivering essential veterinary care each daily to ensure their clients’ pets are well cared for.

UPDATE on Delay in U of G Electronic Pay Deposits

The University has been in contact today with our financial partners regarding the delay of today's pay deposits. While many deposits have been made, due to the large number of deposits, payments may not appear until this evening. Our financial partners have assured us that these deposits will be made before 11:59 p.m. today.

Short Delay in U of G Electronic Pay Deposits

The University has been notified of an unexpected issue relating to yesterday’s federal statutory holiday (Remembrance Day) that is resulting in a short delay in the release of electronic pay deposits.

HR has been assured that deposits to most banks are expected to be deposited by noon today and no later than the end of today. Some smaller institutions (e.g., credit unions) are expected to have deposits received throughout the day with all deposits received no later than tomorrow morning.
